Get up in the morning. Like, actually get out of bed, on time. Sometimes just accomplishing this first step is the hardest. But every day you wake up with breath in your body is another chance at life, and yet another confirmation that there is still some work of greatness you have left to fulfill in this life.
Begin EVERY day with prayer. Honestly, I’ve been slacking recently in my initial time with Jesus, frantically picking up the pieces later of what should have been a fantastic day if I’d started it correctly. But life is a journey, and I’m not giving up! And as I’ve begun to return to starting my day off with Him, I can physically see the difference it makes in the day. Give all of your plans and cares of the day initially to Him, and watch it make a difference!
You are amazing. You are a fantastic creation. Before you were born you were thought of and imagined, so that when you were formed your very neurons were intricately strung together, integrated with synapses and responses. Every one of your cells was given a job, just like you have a specific job. No matter who you are, what you look like, or what you feel like today, you are special. You have meaning and were endowed with purpose.
Having said that, you better slay! As such a particularly created being how could you give any less than your best? Show the world what you’re made of, and like Steve Martin said, “Be so good they can’t ignore you.”
Every great work of art needs rest. Find time to relax. Create a happy place. Notice, I did not say find a happy place. Sometimes the place you find yourself in may not be a happy one. Happiness and joy are things that must come from within, and with the help of Jesus. Therefore, you must create your happy place. Make sure you do things that help you recharge. And get 8 hours of sleep! Your grind renders ineffective if you can’t function, or only live until you’re 50 because you died of sleep deprivation. IJS.
Don’t give up. Sometimes I feel like doing it. You feel like doing it. We’ve all been there. But the race is not given to the swift, and the most successful people are those who persevere despite great obstacles. They also often develop some beneficial character traits in the long run. Keep at it. Don’t let small things discourage you, and even if things don’t always look positive, there is always beauty in life. Nature, laughter, and the basic fact you woke up this morning just to name a few. So never give up!
Enjoy your weekend, lovelies! And happy Friday!
“I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.”
